About Isra

Isra Abuyounis is a licensed social worker and psychotherapist with an extensive background across multiple settings. She has brought her clinical skills to psychiatric hospital, school-based counseling, community mental health, outpatient private practice, and college counseling settings. She holds a master’s degree from Widener University where she studied clinical social work with a concentration on Trauma. Isra approaches her clients relationally where she aims to create a collaborative and validating environment for reflection of thoughts and feelings. She specializes in treatment for anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, identity development, racial identity, and family of origins related concerns. She is a member of the Eating Concerns team and the Sexual Trauma Treatment Outreach and Prevention team. Isra has previously trained at Penn’s Student Counseling and has extensive experience working with Wharton students. Outside of Penn, Isra is dedicated to her family, friends, travel, cooking, and enjoys reading books.
