MBA Graduation Student Speaker

On behalf of the Wharton Graduate Association and the MBA Program, we are pleased to announce the selection of Hari Joy as your class’ student commencement speaker.

About Hari Joy

Hari Joy is an MBA candidate at Wharton with an expected major in Management. He grew up in North Carolina, but Philadelphia holds a special place in his heart. Hari earned his B.S. in Economics from Wharton in 2016, graduating summa cum laude with concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Social Impact & Responsibility. His career path has taken him through roles in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, private equity at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, and most recently, helping lead the Ventures team at Blue Haven Initiative, a family office focused on early-stage impact investments. Post-MBA, Hari is set to return to Blue Haven Initiative to advance his work in impact investing in emerging markets.

At Wharton, Hari has been an active leader and member of the community. He is an Admissions Fellow, Communications Fellow, captain of his hockey team in the Wharton Hockey League (WHL), member of Wharton FC, and a two-time participant in Dance Studio. His time at Wharton has also been personally meaningful, as it is where he met his fiancée, Shreeya. Hari has cherished his second time around at Wharton and has mentioned he will miss traveling with peers, “stretch experiences”, the Philly food scene, and above all, the amazing community that is the Wharton MBA Class of 2024.

We are thrilled to have Hari represent the voice of your class at this year’s commencement ceremony. Many thanks to everyone who applied and auditioned for this role – your commitment and passion is appreciated.

With only a little more than a month to go, we are looking forward to graduation and hearing Hari’s words of wisdom.  Please join us in congratulating him!

Warm regards,
