2401 Walnut is your dedicated student life space. Take in sweeping views of Philadelphia as you tackle a project in one of our Group Study Rooms (GSR), host an event, or catch up with a friend. Located conveniently between campus and center city, 2401 is great for individual or group study, meetings, small gatherings, special events, club activities, and, of course, relaxing and spending time with each other.
Situated in Center City, 2401 is a handy resource for all MBA students looking to meet up with their study groups, get some focused studying done or just hang out with other friendly faces in the evening.”

Holding an Event
Want to hold an event at 2401? It’s easy. Just be sure to submit your application at least three (3) weeks in advance. Our office will consider:
- The purpose of the event
- Whether the event will enhance student life
- If and how the event affects other activities scheduled within the facility.

Key fobs are available at the MBA Program Office (JMHH, 300).
Q: How do you enter the 2401 facility?
There are two entrances. The main entrance is on the north side of the building, below the Walnut St. bridge (take the stairs on the Center City side of the building down to the lower level). The second entrance is located on the Walnut St. bridge. You will need a fob to access either entrance.
Q: Is alcohol allowed in the building?
Alcohol is NOT permitted in the building at any time with the exception of university-sponsored events such as Cluster Suppers.
Q: Is food permitted in the building?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own food into 2401. We have a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and microwave too.
If you would like to serve food at an event, you must inform and seek approval from firstname.lastname@example.org at least two weeks prior to the event date. Food in rooms should be limited to light items such as sandwiches, pizza, cookies, etc. No food shall be heated in a room.
Q: What are the hours of the 2401 facility?
9 am – 12 am (Midnight) on weekdays, and from 9 am – 9 pm on weekends.
Q: Do partners have access to 2401?
Yes. Partners must first obtain a Penn ID from the bookstore, but once they have their Penn ID they can go to the MBA Program Office (JMHH, 300) to get a 2401 fob.
